Healthy Hot Chocolate

Eat, Drink, Be Merry Christmas Mug by Olivia Bossert

Did you know that until the age of 20, the only hot drink I drank was hot chocolate? I don't know if I was just stubborn, or genuinely didn't like it, but any other kind of tea didn't appeal to me, at all. Now though, it's a well known fact thatI love peppermint tea. I drink it at least once a day, and I find it incredibly soothing. But I do still love me some hot chocolate! I don't make it often, mainly because it never really occurred to me.

Until today!

I won't go into it today, but I've started a new training program, so with that has come a bit more of a controlled diet. It's nothing crazy, just a bit more structure in what I should be eating and when. I'm always been trying to keep my sugar intake low, but at the moment I'm having to REALLY be aware of how much sugar is going in my body. I think that anyone who works from home will know how hard it is to not reach for more sugary snacks in the middle of the afternoon. Actually, you don't even have to work from home to know that! I've been finding it a bit difficult, I'll admit. So this afternoon, as I was trying very, very hard not to reach into the fridge for a big bowl of blueberries and raspberries (Yes, I can still eat them... just not 210000000x a day like I have been!), I thought to myself: "I'll make a cup of tea." And then I thought: "but I still really want chocolate..." And that's when it hit me... Hot chocolate!

I made this up on the spot. I didn't really know how it would turn out, but I hoped for the best. 3 ingredients, and 3 minutes later (thanks induction hob!), I had created what will most definitely be my "craving buster go to!" Plus, in my lovely "Eat, Drink, Be Merry" mug that my friend Gaby got me, it makes me feel really festive. :)

This hot chocolate contains no sugar at all, it's filled with antioxidants, it tastes amazing, it's dairy free and FODMAP friendly! #winning

All you need is:- A mug full of coconut milk (I love this one.)-1 tsp of Cacao powder-1/2 tsp of vanilla powder

Heat up the coconut milk in a pan until its hot, then add the cacao powder and vanilla powder and mix it up! Done. Nope, not lying. It's that easy, it tastes amazing, and it really does do the job to kick those cravings :)
