What Film Cameras Do I Use?

It's no secret that shooting on film is my FAVOURITE. If I could just shoot film, I would. I got ask this week what film cameras and film I use, so thought I'd answer here:

Nikon F100: This is a camera that doesn't even look like a film camera. It's one of the last ones that Nikon made before they went fully digital, so it looks like one of the modern day digital cameras. I love it, because it is just so easy to use. I used to have an F3 which I loved, but honestly I love that the F100 winds the film on for you, and rewinds it automatically as well. I was super lucky and got mine for like £80 on ebay in an auction!

Pentax 6x7: This is my newest camera, and it's a medium format 6x7 frame. I LOVE the crop. However, this camera is SO heavy it's ridiculous. I'm getting serious guns when I shoot with it. I've also got to get it serviced because the latch on the door is a bit sticky (I'm getting light leaks on my film at times). I've only had it for 4 months or so, but so far I adore it. The image at the top of this email was taken on it!

Polaroid SX-70: This camera was on my dream list for YEARS. I mean, literally about 10 years. Its a polaroid but you do have slightly more control over it (you can focus, for example). It takes such beautiful images, and I adore it.

Fujifilm Instax Square: When I don't have polaroid (or want to spend less money on polaroid because that film is ££) I use this camera! The quality is lovely, and this camera does have a lot of controls to it. I just don't love the film as much. It's smaller, and doesn't have quite the same quality to it.

Portra 400: Honestly I'm such a film photography cliché, but this really is my favourite film. It's SO beautiful, and gives me everything I could ever want in an image. If you've never tried it, I do recommend it. It's expensive AF, but worth every penny.

Lomography Color 400: If portra is too expensive (or unavailable as it often is) my back up option is the Lomo Color 400 film. It's a bit cheaper, and is a pretty good dupe to the Kodak… but it will never be quite the same.

Do you shoot film? What do you use? I'm a geek and always looking for my next one!
