A Week By The Sea
This week has been extremely busy. So busy in fact, that I can't quite believe it's Friday already! I'm exhausted, but it's a good kind of exhausted; the kind where you feel like you've been really productive. I've got such a mash up of things that I wanted to share with you this week, so I figured I'd bung them all into one big old post and summarise the week a bit. Here goes!

Stand Up Paddleboarding: If you follow me on Instagram, you'll probably have seen me bang on and on about how excited I am to finally be a member of WeSUP at Gylly Beach in Falmouth. I first tried SUP two years ago while on holiday in Italy with my family, and I adored it. I vowed I would go back to it in Falmouth, but I never quite summed up the courage to do so. Fast forward to 2016, and I've never felt more positive about myself, my health, or more of a desire to be adventurous. So after a couple of weeks of wondering if I could really afford it, and if I would really make the most of a membership, I drove down to the beach and signed up. Needless to say I've been a member three weeks and I think I've already been Paddleboarding 5-6 times! That membership is getting used. My favourite SUP yet: Wednesday morning with my friend Lizzie Churchill. The water was as calm as I'd ever seen it. We were on the water full over an hour. I may have accidentally fallen in at the end and YES it was cold, but as I was already in... we went for a sea swim as well!
Walks with Friends:Anna and I have been trying to meet up more regularly, and make the most of the summer weather when we can. On Tuesday we met up at Maenporth beach for a little hour long walk to stretch our legs, catch up and discuss all things freelance and internet (as we always do). We both got caught out by how warm it was that day. Even after 6 years in Cornwall, I can still never seem to get my outfits right; I'm either too hot, or too cold! I'll get there one day.
Romeo and Juliet: I've been a huge fan of William Shakespear's "Romeo and Juliet" since I was about 10 years old. This love stems from weekends with my grandmother when I was small, and she would watch old classic films with me. I've yet to see the play performed in person, but I got one step closer last night when I headed to Merlin Cinema's in Falmouth to watch a live screening of the play in London. The cast was incredible, including Lily James (Cinderella) and Richard Madden (also Cinderella!), and was directed by Kenneth Branagh. It was such a wonderful experience, and meant that I could enjoy the play as if I was in London, without having to the long journey there! The cinema's in Cornwall frequently do live screening like this, so if you're around it's definitely worth seeing what's on. The play is still on in London until the 13th of August, and I highly recommend going if you can!
Fashion Shoots: More than half way into 2016 already, and my resolution to shoot more has been kept up! This week I had such a great time shooting in my home studio, complete with the biggest octobox you've ever seen. I rented one from Falmouth University for the day, along with some lights, but I didn't quite anticipate how big it would look in my flat! Needless to say when we were in the enormous studios while I was at uni, it didn't look quite so big. I'll be editing the images in the next couple of days, so stay tuned for the results. :)
Couple Shoots: With summer comes the feeling of everyone being seriously loved up, and I wanted to capitalise on that feeling badly! My portfolio of couple shoots is very small, so I've been keen to build on it. I asked my friend Jessie if she and her partner would be up for posing for me in exchange for some cute couple photos, and they happily agreed! I adore the images so much, and I really can't wait to share them with you all.... but you'll have to wait until Monday!
Horsies: Last weekend was spent driving around most of the South West and Midlands of the UK (I drove 618 miles in four days - I did the maths!) as my mum is on the hunt for a new horse. I haven't mentioned my passion for horses on this blog very much, but I started riding at the young age of 5, and got my first horse, Kwintus, when I was 14. When I moved to Cornwall to study, he was 18, and suffered badly with arthritis so had to be retired. He lives in horsie retirement home paradise now, but the desire to ride hasn't really been with me for the last few years. Maybe I'm too loyal to him. Either way, seeing my mum try out horses started to awaken an urge in me that I hadn't felt in a long time. So if anyone knows of any dressage horses in Cornwall that need a rider, let me know!
