A Girls Night In Cawsand

I'm not going to lie to you, I'd never heard of Cawsand until I went to it. But my goodness do I wish I had!

Anna, who you probably all know by now from her blog The Cornish Life, got invited to spend the night at a beautiful holiday let home, The Blue Monkey, a few weeks ago, and very kindly asked if myself and Alice, from Wooden Window Sills, would go along as her guests. I mean, who would turn down a night in a gorgeous home by the sea? Certainly not me!

So one Friday afternoon on a chilly November day, Anna, Alice and I made our way down to the beautiful seaside town of Cawsand.

Cawsand and Kingsand are two little seaside towns in East Cornwall, not very far from Plymouth. If you've ever visited Porthleven, then you could image they're quite similar to that. I've never visited the Isles of Scilly yet, but the other girls kept saying that the villages looked very similar to the villages there.... just another reason to make a trip over!

We couldn't check into the house until 3pm, which was fine in the end because we all had things to do in the mornings. The only problem with that? When we finally did arrive, we had about an hour and a half left of sunlight. Queue three girls running around like crazy people trying to take as many photos as they could before the sunset!

I think we did a pretty good job ;)

We walks around, chatted, snapped photos, and took in as much as we could of the little village we were in. Then, when the sun was gone and it began to really get cold, we made our way back to the house to light a fire and chill out before dinner.

This short little stay was utter perfection. It reminded me so much of girlie days I used to have often during school years or uni years, where we'd all get together for sleep overs and watch silly films and chat. Now that we're all older, with jobs, boyfriends and puppies to look after, we don't really do it much. But it makes it all the more special when we do have a chance to get together for fun :)
