The Perfect Hen Party Activity | Making Flower Crowns!
Don't all be alarmed, I am not planning a hen party of my own! If you follow me on Instagram, then you'll have seen that last week I attended a flower crown workshop at Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay. I was kindly invited to attend this workshop by the super talented Loulabel Floral Design. The wedding industry in Cornwall is filled to the brim with so many talented individuals, and Loulabel is certainly one of them. Honestly, just take a few minutes and have a look through her work on her website, she's incredible!
I went along to the workshop with Ione, and we were both VERY excited at the prospect of looking like princesses. I was also really looking forward to meeting a few more women from the wedding industry. I'm so new to the wedding industry in Cornwall still, so chances like these to network and make new friends are wonderful.
We all sat down at this lovely, long table, and Louise (Loulabel) began to explain the first steps of making the crown. The setting was pretty incredible, and with flowers everywhere, it was a photographers dream. We all selected our flowers, and got to work. It was really interesting to see what flowers people chose. I think it showed off all of our personalities really well, which was something I really liked.
After a couple of hours of crafty work from us all, and a lot of deep concentration, the first crowns began to emerge, and it was clear that they were just as awesome as I had anticipated. As soon as mine was complete, I ran to the nearest mirror and put it on. As a lover of all things floral, colourful and bohemian, it was pure bliss!
The whole experience of attending Louise's workshop was so much fun. I loved meeting new people, and having some time to get creative with something I'd never done before was lovely. I left the workshop feeling so relaxed, and loving my final product. I can't recommend enough that if you've got a hen do coming up soon, or are planning a birthday party for yourself, or perhaps your teenage daughter, a flower crown making party is definitely a way to go!
A big thank you to Loulabel Floral Design for hosting such a fun workshop. Thanks are also due to Lusty Glaze beach for letting us turn your café into a flower forest!
