Banana and Chocolate Chip Protein Slices
Healthy baking can get a bit pricey sometimes; theres simply no denying that. Coconut sugar is not cheap! (it tastes great though). These banana and chocolate chip protein slices are brilliant. Packed with protein, and slow releasing carbs which will keep you full for a long time. They're also really versatile.. you can switch them up however you like! They're a go to weekly bake for me, as they're easy to grab on the go, and perfect for in the office. They can be stored in the fridge for a week, but generally they don't last that long in our house... they get gobbled up!
Ingredients you'll need:
2 cups of porridge oats1 large banana1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk2 eggs1 scoop of any protein powder of your choosing. I like Growing Naturals1 tsp of baking powder2 tsp of pure maple syrup1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
How to make them:
Switch the oven on to 180°C.Mash up your banana in a big bowl, and add the eggs, maple syrup and almond milk. Mix them together till they're ... mixed! Then add in your dry ingredients: oats, protein powder and baking powder. Mix well. Finally, this is where you can get creative. I've made these without anything else added to them, and they're really nice like that. This time, Tom asked for chocolate chips in them, so I threw some in! You could also add: pecans, almonds, hazelnuts, cacao powder, desiccated coconut, cinnamon or any kind of dried fruit! There are loads of alternatives.Cook them for about 20 minutes, and then let them cool for another 20 before you cut them up into slices and enjoy :)
Let me know what you think of these protein slices!
