Youtube Channels Every Fashion Photographer Should Subscribe To
I’ll put my hand up. I’m a YouTube fan! I have learnt SO MUCH in the last few years simply from watching Youtube videos. A lot of the lighting techniques, retouching techniques, and business tips that I’ve learnt have all come from Youtube.
So rather than keep all of these channels as a secret to myself, I thought I’d share them with you. Because sharing is caring, right?!
If you’re a fashion photographer, or an aspiring fashion photographer, these are the Youtube channels you should definitely be subscribed to.
Jessica Kobeissi
I mean, if you’ve ever researched photography on Youtube, you probably already know Jessica. She’s got over 1 million subscribers, and has been making videos dedicated to fashion photography and just photography in general, for a really long time. She’s hilarious, and super talented. I love watching her 3/4 photographer challenge videos, too.
Julia Trotti
I feel like I’ve been following Julia’s journey for years and years. I love her work, and her videos are really informative and lovely to watch. She creates brilliant tutorials, and often films the behind the scenes of her shoots, which are always great to watch.
Mango Street
This husband and wife pair aren’t fashion photographers necessarily, but choose to shoot a variety of content. Their videos are short, but really high production and packed full of value. I think they’re great to learn from, especially because the videos are so bitesize. I highly recommend!
Irene Rudnyk
Irene is the cutest person to follow on Youtube, and she takes the most ethereal, romantic images. She makes incredible retouching tutorials too, so I’d definitely check her out if you’re wanting to learn more on that front. If you want to watch someone shoot with super wide apertures, she’s your girl.
Diane Villadsen
If you love bright colours, and quirky work, you’ll love Diane. She creates really fun tutorials all about fashion photography, styling, editing and much more. She’s also got a few free presets available which I think are meant to be really cute, so worth checking them out!
D’Arcy Benincosa
D’Arcy is actually primarily a wedding photographer, but she creates brilliant content about running a business. She takes stunning imagery, and works on film which I love. If you want to learn more about the business side of photography, or learn more film techniques, definitely give her a watch.
Chase Jarvis
Chase Jarvis is pretty much a business king. He’s an extreme sports photographer, but he’s also the founder of CreativeLive, an incredible online learning resource which I’m a big fan of. His Youtube channel is great, and so is his podcast. He’s full of amazing business advice which I highly recommend listening to.
Anita Sadowska
Anita is an incredible photographer, and an incredible retoucher. I’ve learnt a lot from her retouching tutorials (more than most) so if you need to improve your skills on that front (like me!) definitely, definitely watch her content. She travels a lot, and creates a lot of behind the scenes videos of her shooting, which I always enjoy watching.
Lara Jade
Although Lara Jade doesn’t really make Youtube tutorials as such, some of her behind the scenes videos are really interesting to watch because you can see her lighting set ups, watch how she works, etc. She’s worth following, just because of pretty videos!
Emily Soto
Just like Lara Jade, Emily Soto doesn’t really make tutorials for Youtube, but she is very good at creating behind the scenes videos of many of her shoots. These are really great to watch, just to see someone at work, and watch how they shoot. I get majorly inspired by Emily, so make sure you subscribe!
Olivia Bossert
Yes, a bit of shameless plug, but I couldn’t not include my own channel! I wish I made more videos, because I do really like them, but I find them super time consuming to create. That being said, I know that you all like them too, so I am going to be making an effort to film a few more of them. Let me know what you’d like me to create in the comment section!
