The 6 Best Inspirational Wedding Blogs
It's no lie that, recently, I've become slightly obsessed with all things Wedding Photography. It happened totally by accident. I stumbled on a blog one day, and saw something called a "Styled Shoot." I'd never come across that term before, so I was curious. As I began to scroll, I realised that all a styled shoot was, was essentially an editorial focused on weddings. My background is in fashion photography, so we never called our shoots "styled shoots," they were always editorials. This wedding world was completely new to me, and I was totally hooked.
Before I knew it, I'd made new pinboards on my Pinterest account, and began to save all the images I loved. I began to follow more wedding photographers on Instagram, and before I knew it, I was thinking about how I could plan my very own "styled shoot!"
But what are my favourite websites to go to find wedding inspiration? The good thing is, that all of these websites include not just styled shoots but they also feature real couples, on real wedding days. And guess what that means... all the inspiration for your very own wedding day, too! So without further ado, here are my favourite blogs to find wedding inspiration!
A film photography focused blog, this is probably my current favourite (and I'm super excited to say that I've got an editorial coming out on here in May!). The imagery on Wedding Sparrow is always beautiful. It's bright, light, and airy, and thanks to the showcase of primarily film, the image quality is unparalleled. I'm incredibly inspired by this blog, and I'm sure that you will be too!
One of the UK's biggest wedding blogs, Rock My Wedding has probably got you covered for everything to do with your wedding day, and it's always of the highest standard. Whether you're looking to check out what other people have done on their wedding days, you're on the hunt for a cake maker in your area, or want to discover a new DIY project that you can do yourself, Rock My Wedding has you covered!
Junebug Weddings is an American website, with much more of a bohemian feel to it. Similar to Rock My Wedding, in that it covers all kinds of elements of weddings, I feel like this has a slightly more alternative feel to it; and I love it! There is an abundance of images of real weddings, plenty of tips and tricks on how to actually go about planning your wedding, and an enormous vendor list from all around the world, so that you can find everyone you've ever wanted to create your dream wedding.
I love Green Wedding Shoes, because although it's focus is on weddings, it also looks at interiors, fashion, lifestyle. So it's a place you can go if you're interested in feeling inspired for your wedding, but also if you're interested in checking out other things! The photography is always beautiful, and has a similar feel to it as Junebug Weddings. I guarantee you'll click onto this website and find it hard to click off!
Once Wed has quite a similar aesthetic to it as Wedding Sparrow, but it has one big difference to it: it helps new brides purchase used wedding dresses! I think this is absolutely genius, because so many beautiful dresses get worn once, and then sit in a cupboard forever... which makes me feel a bit sad. Why not sell it on, and let someone else love it just as much as you? Once Wed is so beautifully curated though, that you won't feel like you're looking at a resale shop... it's more like a blog and magazine blended into one.
Oh, Magnolia Rouge... you make me dream. Again, this website's focus is on bright, light and airy imagery, so a similar style to Wedding Sparrow and Once Wed (but it's a style I adore... hence why I'm sharing these blogs with you!) but the best thing about Magnolia Rouge? It's also a printed magazine. That's right, you could own this in the flesh! As a magazine enthusiast, anytime I see something beautifully created in print, I get excited. Sadly, I've not yet managed to get my hands on a physical copy of Magnolia Rouge, but the goal is there and I'm sure I will have one soon. Till then, I'm very happily checking their blog daily to see what new, beautiful images they've posted.
So, there you are! 6 amazing websites to get stuck into, get inspired, and get planning! I hope you love them all as much as I do :)
