Five Minutes To Make Magic
Sometimes all you need is 5 minutes. You heard me, 5 short minutes to create magic.
On Wednesday evening, after Ione, Jessie and I had finished shooting a project for Joules (coming soon!!), we had time for one more outfit. This dress by Needle and Thread was supposed to be used for a photoshoot last week, but sadly that shoot had to be postponed. Not wanting to put a beautiful dress to waste, we went for some spontaneity!
Ione created this incredible hairstyle with just her fingers and hair grips - we didn't have a hair brush on us! That just goes to show how much skill she has not only with make up, but with hair too. We slipped the dress on Jessie, making sure to hide her from the various groups of teenage boys having BBQ's on the beach surrounding us, and just as we zipped her up, the sun peaked through the clouds.
I'm not lying when I say this sun was there for 5 minutes! It was the most stunning, wonderful, glorious 5 minutes we had all evening, and created just the right amount of drama that this dress needed.
These are some of my favourite images I've ever done, and it has so much to do with the light. But it has much more to do with the mental space I was in, the people I was surrounded with, and the utter joy I felt whilst creating these images.
The past three weeks have been pretty intense for me, with a lot of deep thinking, self exploration, and "aha moments," and I'm sure that I'll be sharing some of that all with you soon. Until then, I'm just going to leave you with these images that bring me so much happiness.
Happy weekend, everyone!
