Ambitions and Aspirations: My Goals for 2024 as a Fashion Photographer
Happy New Year! I hope you’ve had a fantastic start to 2024 ☺️
Mine was very chilled out. We did a long coastal walk with friends, and watched Bend It Like Beckham before midnight rolled around… my idea of a perfect New Years Eve!
Have you taken a moment to write down your 2024 goals yet?
After doing so much reflection on 2023, I did eventually sit down and think about what my big goals for the coming year were, and I thought I'd share some of them with you.
Pitch to France and Switzerland 🇫🇷🇨🇭:
You might not know this, but I'm fully bilingual in French and English. I never speak French online, or write in French because my written French is so poor (I'm dyslexic!).
That has really held me back from pitching to francophone countries… cause I'm scared of making grammar mistakes.
But I've decided that I can't be scared anymore. There are enough tools available to me to check my grammar and spelling for me, that I'm just limiting what could be such great opportunities!
There's literally a HUGE market that is available to me that I've never tapped into.
So this year, I'm doing it. I'm pitching myself to French brands, and I'm feeling SO ready for it.

One Creative Project Per Quarter 📸:
This is a bit of a continuation of my usual goals, but I'm adding it in here to remind myself (and you) that it's incredibly important to prioritise personal projects!
Last year I shot fewer editorials as I was focusing so much on growing my client list of brands. That worked, and this year I'm sure I'll continue to add to that list, but I'd like to do a bunch more editorials, and shoot for new magazines.
Celebrity/Talent shoots 🕺:
I've done veeeery little work with talent/celebrities, and this year, I'm really keen to do more work in that area.
Not for any particular reason, other than I think it would be a great creative challenge.
I'm also a HUGE Formula One fan, and I'm planning to reach out to the F1 Academy teams and see if I can help with imagery for the promotion of the female drivers. I really want to get behind that sport and help the women out wherever I can (they're still so wildly underpromoted), so watch out world, here I come!
