Cookbook Love: Madeleine Shaw's "Get The Glow"

Get The Glow

I'm obsessed with cookbooks! It's a dangerous love affair. It started about two years ago when I realised that, actually, cooking isn't that scary; it's pretty fun. Who'd have thought?

I'm a photographer, so I definitely gravitate towards books which are full of beautiful pictures. I've always been that person who looks at the pictures before she reads anything!

I remember first hearing about Madeleine a few years ago via Millie Macintosh (yes, I watch Made in Chelsea, and I'm not afraid to admit it!). Madeleine is a qualified Health Coach, food blogger, and now cookbook author. Her book was very hyped about, and I was really excited to get my hands on it when it finally came out. Madeleine seems really down to earth and happy all the time, and her book certainly didn't disappoint.

Get The Glow is full of wholesome, easy, and most importantly, really yummy recipes. I'm all about cooking things which aren't going to take hours, but will be healthy, and Madeleine has really made that easy. The book starts with a guide on nutrition, and her philosophies on how to eat a wholesome, diet to be the "hottest, happiest and healthiest you." All her recipes are gluten free, and she highly encourages eating unprocessed, nutrient-dense food. A philosophy I can definitely get behind. They're also all very easy to adapt to be Low FODMAP if necessary.

My 3 favourite recipes from Get The Glow:

  • Strawberry Cake

  • Smokey Roast Chicken with Sweet Potato Wedges

  • Buckwheat, Asparagus and Pea Risotto
